25th Annual
National Night Out
5th of August 5:15 pm
National Night Out (NNO) is a yearly event throughout the country designed
to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and
participate in, local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and
police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them
know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. We think it is important
to come together, to participate with the other neighborhoods, and to say
we won't tolerate crime.
On August 5th a motorcade with leave old Cradock High School around 5:35
(+/-) and will probably get to Olde Towne around 5:45 to 6:00 (+/-). They'll
be coming down Effingham to South Street to Court Street to Crawford Street
and on. It will end back at Victory Blvd to George Washington Hwy to the final
site: 4300 George Washington Hwy.
At the final spot, there will be sponsors, some food and prizes will be given
out for the poster contest, etc. Gas is not cheap and no one is discouraging
carpooling. People can just come out to the party site or can participate
in the motorcade. However, past participants say that the motorcade is what
is so important and moving for the folks in the neighborhoods. We invite you
to participate in NNO even just to join the motorcade.
We will start to line up to join the procession at 5:15 pm on Washington
Street between London and Queen Streets.
Come on over and let’s show our support for the people who protect us and show criminals we care about crime in our neighborhood.
